Important email I received today. Re: Lesbian fighting for visitation.
www.helpstacifight for Emma.... Lesbian Non-Biological Mother FIghting For Visitation

Hello.

My name is Staci, my ex-partner and I have raised Emma since she was 11 months of age. My ex is her biological mother and I have raised
her as my own daughter since my ex and I began dating in late 1999. We were “married” in February of 2000 and we raised Emma
together for over 4 years, during those years I had Emma on my insurance, claimed her on my taxes, took care of her needs, gave her
everything that a parent gives to their child. Now that we have separated she will no longer allow me to see Emma, even though all
those years Emma has known me, she has considered me as one of her two mommies and I am known to her as her other parent. We are
currently fighting this out in the St. Louis, Missouri city courts. I am trying to fight for visitation to Emma so that we can continue our
relationship that we have fostered since she was a baby. Due to the fact that legal bills are expensive I am now asking for assistance
from my friends. Please help me fight for visitation to see Emma. I am not asking to take her away from my ex, I just want to be able to
continue to share in Emma's life as she grows up.

It is hard here in the state of Missouri to be a same-sex couple, let alone a same-sex couple with children. Since non-biological parents
basically have no rights when a couple is together, once the couple separates, the non-biological or non-adoptive parent and the child
are the ones who suffer when that relationship is severed. Although several courts do believe that non-biolgical people do foster a
parental bond with children and allow them visitation. I am praying that here in St. Louis this holds true.

Please help me fight this battle. I am asking for anyone who can donate to my legal fund to please do so, every little bit helps. If you
have any questions, please contact me via my website www.helpstacifightforemma.com or via email at [email protected]

I know that this has happened to several GLBT parents in this country. I know I am not the first, nor will I be the last unfortunately.
Please consider helping me obtain visitation with Emma.
