Our superintendent is being fired!
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City School District Superintendent Anthony Amato is on his way out, sources told KMBC Thursday.

The School Board is taking steps to get rid of Amato and is asking someone to come in and take over for him, the source said.

In December, a group of community leaders released copies of a complaint filed against Amato by a former Amato chief of staff. In it, Amato is alleged to have called school board members Marilyn Simmons and Helen Ragsdale a derogatory term. (He called them 'black bitches')

Okay all you teachers who work in urban districts, make a note of this name: ANTHONY AMATO. He was in NYC, Hartford, CT and New Orleans before he came to KC. He is HORRID. Spends money like it grows on trees. This is my 28th year in urban ed and this man is without a doubt the WORST superintendent EVER. Please, may he stay unemployed for a LONG time. And our board is paying him enough money that he can afford to not work for awhile.

Oh happy day. :bounce:

3. Amato in NO
Amato's Downfall

On the flip side...

Who wants a superintendent who uncovered more than 1,500 phantom jobs and cut $50 million from his budget? Apparently, not New Orleans.

4. Be careful what you wish for you might get it
I was a Dept. Head in local government for over 30 years 20 with one agency. I worked for four city managers. Everyone of them was a douchebag and we all partied when they left. Yet as bad as each one was the next one the city council hired turned out even worse. The last one was so bad I literally told him to go fuck himself before I quit. He gave me a shitty reference but his reputation was so bad I had no trouble at all getting a similar job with another agency. He was fired about three years after I left and I'm told the guy that succeeded him was a bigger asshole yet.

Mr amato sounds like a giant dildo. but there are probably bigger ones out there and boards of elected officials seem to have no trouble finding them.

Still I know the feeling and I'm happy for ya, Enjoy it and just be cautious about who your new boss might be.

5. Terry Myers who has a M. Ed. degree and is superintendent of Mt. Pleasant ISD TX
said that Black students are lazy, Mexican students are fighters and White students are obedient because of the culture these students come from in his introductory remarks to the teachers and administrators assembly at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year. He believes as a Republican that giving ESL children one year to master the language and compete for grades in full emersion classrooms is reasonable. Anyway bilingual education in Republican dominated Texas and supported by the Dept. of Ed. is on its way out. Mr. Myers is an idiot who was a Sports Coach before he was hired by the idiots on the Mt. Pleasant School Board. Michelle Malkin and Linda Chavez must have taught him well. MT. Pleasant ISD has returned to its 1940's ignorant view of ethnicities. Oh, very few complained about the Super's remarks for fear of losing their jobs. Our education departments are being led by undereducated idiots.

These dufuses need to try to learn a new language to grade level in a year. They just do NOT get it, it makes me sick. :puke:

edit: I can't spell when I'm mad.

10. The story in The Star is a little less definite about his departure.
How many Superintendents has the district had in the last 15 years? Isn't Amato's tenure about average?
