And the stupidity just continues.
We're facing a severe shortage of education funding in Missouri, as are other states. But now, with the deadline of the end of the financial year on the horizon, idiots in the state government are now coming up with some of the most bizarre plans to utilize that education money that Obama released last fall.

"Some Republican senators want to reject Missouri's $189 million allotment as a symbolic statement of discontent with the rising federal deficit. Some have suggested saving it until next year. House budget leaders have proposed using it to replace state money already allocated for schools, essentially holding total school funding flat. And Gov. Jay Nixon has proposed a give-and-take scenario in which schools would get a funding boost this year but a reduction in aid next year."

Once again, education funding is becoming a political football in this state, as it probably is in yours. My future career depends upon the outcome of this debate. Hopefully some more intelligent heads will prevail, but given the overwhelming number of 'Pugs in the statehouse, and the milquetoast nature of our Democratic governor, it doesn't look good.

Hope that the rest of you fare better with your state's share of this money.

2. they take money away and then complain that the schools aren't doing their job.
it's ridiculous. my brother has said on several occasions how the schools have too much money and they just waste it. he is a winger beck faux news viewer. there is no penetrating that wall.

4. What's worse is how the administration continues to play games with this money,
The ten billion from the Obama administration could have been released anytime last year. If would have been most beneficial for schools if had been released early last spring, before hiring and firing decisions were made. Instead, the administration hung on to this money over the summer and into the fall, forcing cash strapped states to apply for his travesty of reform, Race to the Top. Only when he had suckered in as many states as possible did he release the general education funding, far too late to make a difference for this past school year. Now we have understaffed schools, and this sort of insanity hitting our state and other states as well.

It seems like a very deliberate effort on a number of levels to finish off public schools once and for all.

5. and how many think this is a great idea. imagine all the public schools gone.
then where will we be. private schools!! so we will end up having to PAY to send our kids to school. public schools were supposed to be so every kid got an education. we seem to be going backward and it is frightening to me. they want us having to beg religious organizations for help with things. begging for everything. charity is fine as long as it can be used as control. right now we get education, financial aid, food stamps, medicaid.... no begging required!

6. It's similar to how repubs vote for candidates who openly claim to hate government.
They they ask, "Why is government so fucked up?" Well, you dumb shits, why the fuck did you vote for people who want to drown government in a bathtub? It amazes me that they don't see this, but then, there is a lot they don't see that stuns me.

My mother was a right winger & I know what you mean. Talking to them is like this: :banghead:
