Yours truly got canned over what amounted to a clerical error and went on unpaid leave before the hack hearing officer upheld the unlawful dismissal, yet this guy, who is accused of sexual harassment, is still on PAID leave. Must be nice being a superintendent:
Polansky has two years left on his contract, which he agreed to forgo in the agreement. Polansky also agreed not to sue the school board, according to the separation agreement.
Polansky is alleged to have sexually harassed two female principals, and appeared in court last week on two counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault and second-degree breach of peace.
The principals allege he repeatedly kissed and hugged them, and also touched their buttocks. A school investigator concluded there was “inconclusive findings” concerning whether Polansky sexually harassed the principals.
However, the same investigator wrote that Polansky, who is “touchy feely,” should be disciplined and should have known his behavior may make some female employees uncomfortable.
MoreAn earlier report:
Superintendent of Schools Harvey B. Polansky left his first court date Tuesday hand in hand with his wife, Harriet, without speaking to reporters and without entering a plea to the charges that he inappropriately touched two female principals.
Polansky, who has an agreement in principle with the Board of Education to resign — but has yet to sign the agreement — did not speak during his arraignment before Judge Karen Nash Sequino at Superior Court. The case was continued to Feb. 25.
Polansky’s attorney, Fred Paoletti Jr. of Bridgeport, said his client will plead not guilty to the two counts each of fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace at a future court date.
At Paoletti’s request, the judge agreed to seal the arrest warrant affidavits in the case, citing the sexual nature of the allegations.
Nash Sequino also ordered Polansky not to have any contact with the women.
