Anyone know of an easy-to-use, inexpensive blogsite?

I'm looping with my students this year, from 7th grade to 8th. I'll like to keep in touch with them over the summer via a blog; hopefully, it would keep them from the usual summer losses, at least a little bit. I'd like the blog to be the kind where one can provide links to helpful websites and also where students could make comments on specific entries. (Our district offers teachers web space, but it's very basic and not helpful for much beyond listing syllabi, assignments, reading lists, etc.)

If anyone out there has any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
