Texas Is Hell On Women and Horses: Talking Point To Use On Slick Rick
Since Texas Republican Governor "Slick Rick" Perry is now off and running for President, and like the previous Texas governor, is trying to wrap the Texas mystique around himself, maybe it's time to use some Texas history to blow back on the blow-hard.

There was a famous saying about Texas in the 19th century that Texas was an adventure for men and dogs, but Hell for women and horses. Considering how enthusiastically both Republican Rick Perry and the Republican-controlled Texas legislature has taken to chopping health programs that benefit poor women and women with marginal incomes, maybe it's time to link Slick Rick with some Texas historical associations he'd rather not have the electorate think about.

3. I Voted For The Democrat With No Hair, But He Lost (sigh)
I campaigned and voted for Bill White, "Slick Rick's" Democratic opponent in the 2010 election. Alas, too many potential voters chose to sit on their backsides this last election, and too many of those who did vote went for the Senile Elephant Party's candidate.

:(

5. Florida has the same sonogram and doctor
mandated development speech as Texas. Florida's law includes first trimester terminations too. So, if a woman is taking medication (not surgical) abortion of a 5 week embryo she will be required to get a sonogram. What is next? Morning After Pills too? Anyway, the ACLU is bringing suit against Florida's law.
