For the benefit of madinmaryland
Most consecutive losing seasons in professional sports history

Philadelphia Phillies 16 (1933-48)

Pittsburgh Pirates 16 (1993-2008)

Notice that this is not just for MLB but all of professional sports. The Pirates at the conclusion of this season will hold what is arguably the worst record in the long history of sports.

Pirates fans ever aware of the shame attached to such a dubious honor, have taken to not just wearing bags on their heads but not showing up at PNC Park at all.

3. Nothing is worse than 16 consecutive losing seasons
sure, the Pirates were once a proud franchise, but those years are long gone. Now they are equivalent to a triple A team...you could put them in the International League or the PCL and there's no guarantee they'd win.

5. You think the Giants are proud franchise now?
You're just kidding yourself.

They are tainted with roids. And I am one of the ones that does think that Barry Bonds gets unfairly criticized for it.

But comon. You guys ain't win shit in 55 years. That's fucking sad. Your streak is long than the Toronto Maple Leafs and about to surpass the New York Rangers.

Sad.

7. First off
your sports knowledge appears to be limited...the Rangers won the Stanley Cup in '94 breaking their "curse"....or have you forgotten?...Maybe too young to remember? Either way, that kind of mistake renders whatever else you have to say suspect.

8. WOW!!!
Is that you Cboy?

Absense of evidence is not evidence. just becuase I didn't say specificly that the Rangers won the cup in 94 doesn't mean I don't know about the 94 cup.

As a matter of fact, me citing their 54 year drought AT 54 YEARS pretty much states that I know they won the cup in 94.

11. We're talking about ongoing streaks
otherwise we would have to bring up such teams as the Red Sox as well...which speaking of, the Giants will rise again much sooner than the Sox.

16. There you go again, contradicting yourself.
But that's not surprising coming from someone who thinks the Mets have the Phillies' number. :eyes:

17. Look who just showed up
Wanna show me exactly where the contrsdiction is?

This is an experiment to see if someone with ADD is actually capable of following a conversation for once.

Then again, you also think that baseball fans actually respect that joke of a team you have in San Fran.

21. Once again you make something up. I never said that baseball fans respect
the Giants.

What other fiction do you have to offer?

22. What the FUCK did you just say????
You have been spending your entire life sucking up to the lives of Barry Bonds and the SF Giants.

Though that is no where close to 55 Years!!

2. I think the Pirates were once really good for a spell
Mostly in the 70's I think.

The teams they had there in the early nineties were really good as well. The Jim Lehland era.

Shit!! Since 1954, the Giants last title, Pittsburgh already reeled off three world series titles.

9. Yes
and oh how the mighty have fallen.

17 consecutive losing seasons coming right up and dead last in attendance. Perhaps it would be better for all concerned if the Pirates were relegated to triple A, they are an embarrassment to MLB.

10. And you haven't been mighty in 55 years
So it's not like anyone can ever claim that in 55 years the Giants have ever taken a fall.

18. We could go on and on with this
if you like...you say 55 without a championship, I say 16 consecutive losing seasons....but, right now, today...the Giants are the better team and unlike the Pirates have a future...and you know it.

19. I'd rather have the 16 losing seasons
than the 55 without a championship.

The 55 years streak does make the giants the more pathetic franchise. I don't see where you are in position to talk smack there.

A couple days ago was the isles 25 year anniversary of where their dynasty ended. It's kinda embarassing on our part to go that long with a cup.

The Mets streak is getting embarassing as well.

That fifty year streak is longer than both my teams COMBINED. Fuckin sad man.
