I'm watching baseball.
There's two feet of snow on the ground outside and it is colder than death itself, but I see Boston v. Minnesota on my TV, and Renteria is wearing a Red Sox jersey.

Nice.

6. I took my son to Spring training because he wanted to go
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 08:12 PM by sfexpat2000
(yeah, right!) Will Clarke told all the kids in the parking lot to get out of the way, he'd be right back. (Lied)

Matt Williams smiled and took golf clubs out of his trunk and patted every kid and signed every ball before he went inside the gates.

Bayzball!

7. Dear Will,
I'm very happy to hear that every once in a while, you put your feet up and relax...

Very nice!

But do you ever sleep?

8. Have you been following the developing boston dirt dog scandal?
Boston Dirt Dog has really stepped in it this time around. A source wrote to him that Nomar Garciaparra (a player whom BDD has a nice little grudge against) didn't want a World Series ring on his site (which is wholly owned by The New York Times through boston.com). Turns out the email was a hoax to show that this idiot would just post anything from anyone.

To compound it when someone complained to the editor at boston.com she said "lighten up, it's just a blog" even though when they first purchased BDD that he would be held to the same journalistic standards as all other boston.com content.

BDD isn't the most well-liked person in the online community of boston red sox fans (particularly at the Sons of Sam Horn).

Read all about it at http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com/

Hopefully this will be the end of it for this guy. While his site is sometimes entertaining, it is often offensive, mean-spirited and the dude himself isn't among my favorite right-wingers.

9. The Sons of Sam Horn site
is where that epic, amazing, absolutely heartwarming uber-thread ran throughout the playoffs, where people came in and said "This is dedicated to..." a father or brother or husband or wife or mother or sister or uncle or friend who didn't live to see the World Series victory.

A far superior site, I agree.

10. hey WP, have you read that book "Faithful"?
by O'Nan and King?

2 diehard bosox fans chronicle the historic 2004 season

I had to put it down, something about a grown man making a deal about catching foul balls and bring a net to batting practice turned me off.

12. I just finished it
Read a page or three a day throughout the off season.

You should finish it. King describes getting hassled for the 'Somewhere in Texas, A Village is Missing Its Idiot' bumper sticker, and his denigration of the Iraq war in several places. King is one of the good guys.
