cboy4 (oops Lane Kiffin) offers no apologies for being an ***hole..
DESTIN, Fla. (AP) -- Lane Kiffin didn't back down or hand out apologies Tuesday before he met his fellow Southeastern Conference football coaches -- many of whom he has called out and insulted.

The new Tennessee coach and his SEC colleagues gathered in Destin for face-to-face meetings at the annual spring conference. All the coaches individually addressed the media before the sessions began.

In his first few months on the job, Kiffin has taken verbal jabs at several of the SEC heavyweights, including Florida's Urban Meyer, Alabama's Nick Saban and South Carolina's Steve Spurrier.

Kiffin called Meyer a "cheater" on signing day in February.

Holy Shit, coby4 is the coach of UT. I'm glad my parents are alumni of Vanderbilt.

1. What in the hell has this guy accomplished?
I'd like to say he fits right in in the ol' SEC but this guy is beyond an assaholic. Going to be an interesting season.

2. I'm not even sure why he was hired.
Certainly he didn't accomplish much with the Raiders.

4. You can't blame him for that, though...
...Satan owns them and he was thwarting everyone who came into contact with the raiders.

17. I do know this.... the last time Tennessee played at Florida Field....
('07) The Smokey Mountain School of The Dentally Impaired..(Tennessee)played at Florida Field ('07) they lost 59-20 and that was when the had a pretty good coach who'd even won a National championship.

This current guy has never coached a college football game in his life.

5. I don't know much about him
but if he's willing to talk dirt on Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, and Nick Saban, good for him. Can't stand any of them. You get the feeling that they all have used car lots in their back yards.

because the BCS is actually run by the SEC

12. Yup, that was a joke...USC was #1 in both polls, and LSU plays an obviously
inferior Oklahoma team that couldn't even win its division.

15. Yea, that's it. .....
Spurrier beating #1 ranked FSU in '96 by the largest margin a #1 team has ever lost a bowl game before.... was because "The SEC runs the BCS."

Meyer beating #1 ranked, 14 point favorite Ohio school by 4 TD's was because "the SEC runs the BCS." Meyer winning his 2nd National Championship in 3 seasons by beating Okie was because "The SEC runs The BCS."

Sabin beating a favored Okie for the National Championship and Les Miles beating Ohio school for national Championships was because.... The SEC runs the BCS.

The SEC seems to.....own..... the other 118 teams in college footballs top division but running the BCS probably just doesn't matter.

16. Yeah, let the SEC teams play teams from a real conference...
...like the Pac 10...oh that's right, that hasn't happened and once it does, there goes the SEC winning streak...hell Boise State could beat those over-rated twits.

7. If you've got the resume of the above three, crow all you want.
I respect all of them for their coaching. You might not like them as people but, nonetheless, great coaches. Kiffin hasn't done shit. Wait a minute. He's done LESS than shit. Doing shit is at least something. I guarantee you this. Each of those coaches has circled Tennessee. They want to not just beat this amateur. They want to embarrass him.

But wherever he goes, that guy clearly always has his eye on the next prize.

We all should put $5 in a pot and guess the date and the next stop he ends up at. It's inevitable.

14. So what? Who doesn't try to get a better job, if offerred?
Michigan Jr., is a B- situation at best. They're a stepping stone. LSU had been awful for a decade before Sabin. He did great there. Parlayed that into $5+ million per year Dolphin deal and then to Bama and 4+ million.

I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere else unless he gets pushed out for poor WL records. Where's he going to go? There's about no up past Bama.

18. Back to the pros, Jack.
So will Pete Carroll, eventually. Their failure in the NFL haunt them. Doesn't take a psychologist to figure out that one. They'll try it, again.

20. No way...... the college gig is a better job.....
you get about 4 months off each year. The only thing the pros offer is 2 to 3 times the $$$. When the colleges are coming close money wise it's and easy choice.

I don't know about Carroll. He's a twice failed NFL guy. But pro owners are too stupid to not give him a 3rd crack. I'd be shocked if the pro guys are stupid enough to try Saben again but I doubt he'd jump.

21. Has absolutely nothing to do with the $$ at this point, Jack.
It's all about the ego. Correcting past failures. Succeeding at one level but not the other eats at them. I'd say this is Carroll's last year at USC. Once Saban wins a championship at Bama, he's gone.

always wanted and will not give it up, unless fired. Unlike the Sabin types.

23. We here at Iowa deal with the rumors every year , mad.
Ferentz is ALWAYS on the hot list of college coaches going pro. Someday, he will. He has the mindset to coach pro ball. He came from the NFL to Iowa. I'll never forget how he described the NFL experience. "Like teaching a Graduate course of the best and the brightest". He's just waiting for his last kid to finish high school. And the team he gets? They'll be my instant favorite. Love the man.

19. Is that the .....feeling..... you get, Lisa?
what's the feeling the Michiganders are currently getting about the ex coach of West Virginia U.? Eh?

No, those three National Championship winning coaches mentioned about all have darn good resumes and pretty good programs in...."their back yards." Hell, South Carolina would be 10 point favorites over Michigan up at the big, yet very quiet stadium in Arbor.
