Rivera blows another save against the Red Sox.
Edited on Fri Apr-24-09 11:05 PM by Forkboy
His 12th against them, more than any other team, I do believe.

Those useless Sox, Bay and Youkilis, were the culprits. Bay with a 2 run homer with two out in the 9th to tie it, then Youk with a walk off homer in the 11th to win it.

8 wins in a row now for the Sox, but I'm greedy and want it to go to 10 in a row so we can bust out the brooms. After that they can lose a few and I won't mind.

1. I was watching the Red Sox post game show
and they said of Rivera's 59 career blown saves, 12 have come against the Red Sox.

Meanwhile there was a lot of second guessing on the Yankee broadcast about Girardi bringing him in the 8th inning.

Whatever.. that was a clutch HR by Bay.

2. Rivera may be the best closer of all time, but for some reason the Sox have his number.
I'm not sure why they brought him in when they did, but I'm not as smart as either coach so I can't say much. Francona brings in Pap every now and then in the 8th, too.

3. Whatta game.

My daughter works at the souvenir store on Yawkey Way...I imagine it must have been bedlam after that game. Sox, Bruins, Celts, Patriots...it's an embarassment of riches...

6. YOOOOOOOOUK!
Clutch hitting by Bay and Youk. And after so many double plays. Not a pretty game...until the 9th inning.

9. I agree...I'll stop being greedy after 10...
...they start a road trip after Sunday, so there's bound to be some losses in there, but hopefully not too many.

10. Their bullpen has been awesome lately.
Something like 1 or 2 runs in about 20 innings. I figured the bullpen would be vastly improved this year, so it's good to see it panning out.

11. I think it's all Tim Wakefield's doing...
...he pitched that almost no-hitter when they were floundering, and it sort of sparked something in everyone...yesterday wasn't a graet game, but still they found a way to win!
