Who do you think wins The Heisman Trophy this Saturday?
By all accounts it's a 3 man race between Sam Bradford of Oklahoma, Colt McCoy of Texas and Tim Tebow of Florida.

There are several news organizations that polls voters but this race is just too close to call it appears. If you're not aware there are about 900 media voters. Each ballot asks for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place vote. Each vote gets 3 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd place. Voting tens to be very regional.

There's a website that polls voters and has been quite accurate predicting the winner....

stiffarmtrophy.com

I think Bradford wins by very few points over Tebow and McCoy in 3rd. Will be one of the closests votes ever.

1. Who has been seen the most recently,
Tebow.

He's the one that everyone's been talking about.

2. I think Darren McFadden will be the runner up again
Oh wait, he's already done that twice. I agree with you Jack, Bradford of OU is my wild assed guess. Meanwhile McFadden fades from the public scene somewhere near San Francisco.

3. You know what I find amazing.......
In addition to those two stud-hoss RB's Arky had the last few years in Jones & McFadden, I thought this year's Arky RB, Smith was the #2 best RB in the conference and he's a Jr. So all three of those RB were on the Arky roster at the same time? That probably trumps the Cadillac + Ronnie Brown duo at Aubs a few years ago.

McFadden's probably OK. Got those $20 million to keep him company. I don't follow NFL much but didn't I just see McFadden healthy and back in the lineup.

6. Yeah McFadden
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 02:19 PM by BOSSHOG
is back now, although got a little banged up early in the season. Felix Jones is out for the season with a toe (or foot) injury. If Smith had stayed healthy he would have led the conference in rushing this year. As much as I miss Houston Nutt, I'm looking forward to next year's Hog Season after pouting this season.

Hog Alumni Update, Matt Jones has been suspended for the rest of the year for being a knucklehead in the off season. Why the hell would a millionaire need to fuck around with drug sales is beyond me.

4. Tebow deserves it
but it will probably go to an overrated Bradford. His gaudy numbers are mostly due to the fact that nobody in the the Big 12 plays defense.

7. You're probably the only person in America
that truly thinks he's overrated. Even most Texans don't think he's overrated, they just don't think he's better than McCoy.

9. Remember Jason White?
Heisman winner in 2003, finalist in 2004. However in BCS Championship games he and his OU teammates were 0-2, including being humiliated by USC in the 2004 game. White, much like Bradford, had inflated numbers from playing in a conference that doesn't believe in defense.

11. I Heard Someone On ESPN Radio Say Just That
It was one of the writers from ESPN mag, on Mike and Mike, that said it.

And Eric K on Saturday morning said he thought Bradford benefitted from a schedule that required no reading of defenses.

I'm for Florida and Tebow but there is no way Bradford's overrated... He's friggen great and very deserving as is McCoy. All three of these guys are deserving unlike many years.

never been found guilty of breaking any rules of the NCAA, MLB, NBA or the boy scouts and you know it. So where is the apology??

21. If you apologize for calling Barry a cheater, I'll apologize for
insinuating Tim's look on the cover is roid rage, as opposed to fierce competitive energy.

Deal?

24. You are asking someone
to apologize for telling the truth. I will not apologize for doing that. And if I did you'd only get a big head because of it.

25. Hmmm, I didn't know asking someone to apologize for
telling the truth (at least something you believe is the truth), is particularly a Republican trait.

I think a more applicable Republican characteristic is dodging questions.

And I see you ended with another big head insinuation, when again, Barry's head is not disproportionate to his body composition.

26. Of course it isn't disproporationate
Steroids don't target certain parts of the body, they go for the gusto and effect the whole body, ceptin the testicles.

dodging what question? Is there a question that has not been answered?

27. Well you finally answered the second time around....but you
dodged the question the first time with the you must be a Republican comment.

And as much as I defend Barry, I do not want to start thinking about his tiny nuts. :puke:

5. Bradford! Bradford! Bradford!
I bet a night of beers on it with a friend of mine (I'm an OU fan). He picked Tebow (he's an Ohio State fan).

It's going to be an expensive night for one of us, unless McCoy wins...then we all go dutch.

8. Bradford will probably get it, though Tebow said a month ago McCoy was best
"I heard voices." (Vertigo)

That Tebow will be back for his senior year. McCoy will probably be as well. What's the story on Bradford's plans?

10. I don't know, actually.
I'm in Mexico at the moment, and I have not been keeping up with the news out of Oklahoma. I would imagine Stoops keeps a tight leash on that stuff anyway. But seeing as though Bradford is only a RS Soph, I'd imagine he'll be back...depends on the outcome of the NC game, perhaps?? He's very, very bright and I bet getting as much of an education is important to him as well.

Tebow heard voices? I wonder if it was G-D. Hehehe, sorry, mean joke.

12. Honestly, its a toss up
each player is vital to their team, and all are very good. I think its going to be McCoy, or Sam, because Tebow all ready won the honor before....

Between Colt/Sam, putting my OU bias aside...I have no clue, they are both the same to me...personally, I'd like to have Colt because he has the duel threat capability, while Sam has outrageous passing/td numbers(but Colt isn't that far behind)....honestly, it can go either way....

14. Bradford wins, plays like crap in the BCS Bowl, Tebow looks superhuman
in BCS Bowl. Not that I don't think Bradford could do well under pressure, he just wont, there's a Heisman jinx.

16. I'm disappointed.
I wish Harrell would received enough votes to at least go to New York. That's such a shame. Tech fans have always had a lot of class, and even though OU destroyed them, Harrell had one heck of a season...I don't remember his stats offhand, but they were up there with the rest of the guys.

28. No one is picking McCoy?
I thought McCoy was better than Bradford. He was certainly better when they played head to head. Tebow won his last year. So I would vote for McCoy.

30. Does anyone know how I can watch the Heisman?
I'm in Mexico for one more week (of a 5 month trip) and I don't want to miss it. ESPN Latin America might cover it, if I go to a bar, but that means wrestling futbol fans for a tv...which is often rather difficult. It also generally requires me to go to a bar with Dish network, like Outback Steakhouse (no thanks-had enough of that during the season).
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.
