That's It! No More Off Days
It takes 6 hours to get to anywhere in the United States or Canada on a chartered flight.

Let's just start the baseball seanon a little later, play EVERY day and get to
the playoffs sooner.

No more late October, monsoon 30 degree baseball games! Get these damn games in during a time that resembles BASEBALL SEASON!

1. No playoffs!
The best in each league face each other in the World Series. The way it was when I was a kid. The way it was for 6 decades.

Then the Cubs will finally get in!

2. I would prefer no more "on" days
Actually, it might as well be that way. I never even knew the Series games existed this year. I watched one at bat all year, the Red Sox knotting game 5 at 7-7 with a base hit to right.

If Pat Burrell is still on the Phillies I'm happy for him, as a former Cane.

3. I don't see why they don't just schedule a few Doubleheaders...
They could play the same number of games (though I wouldn't mind going back to 154), and keep the offdays if they just threw in a couple of scheduled DH's. Then they'd finish the season a week or so earlier and playoffs would be done by the 3rd week of October at the latest.

4. No, it's warm here in late October. That's why we need
the Giants in the WS more often.

5. Heres what I think they should do.
- Season 154 games
- Everyone plays 8 double-headers during the season
- ALDS and NLDS are played 5 games in 6 days
- ALCS, NLCS, and World Series are played 7 games in 8 days

My main point, I don't want to be watching baseball on October 30. By Halloween, baseball should be two weeks gone.

6. Bad news for us my friend
Scheduling is going the opposite direction next year. If the world series 2009 goes the distance, game seven will be played on November 5th.

10. Yeah, I Know
That's what prompted my OP. That and watching those fans in Philly freezing their butts off. It's ridiculous. That's not baseball at its best.

8. The Twins can win it all next year
in the last year of the comfy, heated Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome.

9. Just add a handful of day-night double headers and you could end the
regular season by a week or more.
