The Sporting News preseason annual:

1) UCLA
2) Memphis
3) North Carolina
4) Kansas

That's the first time it's happened, with TSN top four matching the top four seeds. So no kidding there was a huge shot at all four advancing. We shouldn't be surprised.

In a typical year you've got phony ass teams who were slotted maybe 10th or 15th or worse in preseason being gifted a top seed via irrelevancy like regular season results. And that screws up the entire process, with the relationship between teams in a given bracket not as it appears.

This year we've been treated to refreshing massacres since the rankings and distribution were legit, reflecting true talent level.
