Joe Mauer - .389 batting average
How he is not #1 in all star voting is criminal.

That is all.

1. Is Posada #1?
unfortunately the best players don't always get rewarded in all-star balloting. They leave it up to the public...and the public as you already may know isn't too swift, and they vote on names only. I remember a few years ago someone made the team who was hurt just about the whole first half of the season.

3. well the other two are big names as well
Varitek is having a down year only batting .250 and Pudge I believe is on the downturn of his career

8. and is a fan favorite
Hopefully Guiien if Mauer doesn't get get voted to the team will choose him. Media Market and well knowingness among the average fan I think help. Pujols was finally recongized by the national media when he had his start though anyone who seriously follows the game knows that he's been one of the top players for quite a few years now. I haven't observed the NFL Pro Bowl or NBA All Star games. I'd love to see Mauer or anyone bat 400 for that matter.
