1. Without Moss, it'll likely be 2-14.

26. their troubles so far
have not been Moss-related. I think Burke was a MUCH bigger hit than Moss.

29. Most people don't realize
all that he did. I think that most of the problems I saw on offense (other than coaching problems) were a result of the absense of Burke. He was so good at seeing what the defense was doing and calling out blocking assignments.

30. A real "line quarterback" - they don't just grow on trees.
It takes years of experience and loads of talent to be really good at it and Burke is one of the best. *Sigh* well, everyone else is just going to have to suck it up and try to make up the difference. (I would love to see the Vikes beat Atlanta - man, oh man, would that be great)

31. Sorry to nitpick, but it's Birk.
Matt Birk.

And I agree with your assessment completely. The play of our offensive line has been THE problem this year, and it all comes down to losing him.

34. My bad
I have a student that is "Burke." Guess my brain defaulted to that spelling. Thanks for the correction. Glad others think as I do that Moss is nowhere near the problem. I am really disappointed that the television announcers haven't made that realization; all they do is yap about Randy. Of course, I knew they were morans, but you always hope.

why are the Raiders 0-3???

Don't hear any announcers talking about that now, do we? :grr:

;) With Moss the Vikings had more flexibility - Birk aside.

will take up the slack for Moss.

Plus how can you stop watching a team that Kleinsasser plays for?

36. LOL.
I dunno bout that new guy, I guess we'll see. I am really a fan of Moss's ability - not his childish ego however.

As for Kleinsasser - I may tune in if he grows some hands? ;) Or if they trade his ass for a real tight end.

41. I am displaced
Edited on Tue Sep-27-05 11:01 PM by Goblinmonger
I grew up in North Dakota, so the Vikes were the "hometown" team for me (unless I wanted to watch Canadian football and, I mean, come on, who wants to do that). Got a job in Oshkosh and found myself 40 miles from Packerland. I've gained some respect for the "locally owned" concept but won't ever switch from the Vikes (though it would be nice to see the Vikes win a SuperBowl before the Alzheimer's sets in).

7. Beating the woefully inept Saints
who apparently take their Marie Lavou curse with them on the road is no reason to crow my Friend. And if you are a Viking fan, you know the Saints are the elixir that Culpepper needs to get well. I doubt the Vikings make the playoffs even playing in a mediocre division. I'm not offering anything subjective here (the curse is real) but the Vikings better get real well, real fast or fans will be looking forward to 2006.

12. You know, hatred is one thing in sports
but the hatred for the Cowboys is so intense, it's almost sick. When someone says "all I care about is the Cowboys losing," then you know something's wrong. Or, the wonderful posts I read years back (not on this board) in which Cowboy haters wished their plane would go down in flames. Sick stuff.

but it's actually no fun when they lose now. Maybe I'm getting soft.

I do have a special place in my heart for Eagles fans as well. They are now becoming the absolute worst fans out there. can't say a bad word about the Iggles or you'll be castigated up and down.

22. Maybe, but I don't see what's "sick" about "America's Team"
Again, when the hatred is so intense that people wish death for the team, or in the 70's when (I believe it was LA) Tom Landry received a death threat and had to be protected by security during the game. Like I said, hating is one thing, like I hate the 9ers or Redskins. But it's not so pathelogical that all I think about is that they lose, and hoping for death and destruction for them. Quite a few Cowboy haters are like that.

27. I'll admit
I hate the Cowboys, but don't cry to me about how hard it is to be a Cowboys' fan. I am 39 and have been a Vikings fan since I knew what football was. At least you are a fan of a hated team that has won a couple Super Bowls.
