He'll be in Yankee pinstripes inside of a month.

1. He deserves to be paid.
He's the best player in the game, the Cards should break the bank for him but if they don't he has to do what he has to do.

It means joking, internet lingo. But I am not joking in saying that they likely can't afford his contract.

26. Yes they can.
In case you missed it the Lerners (owners of the Nats) are the richest owners in baseball..they have more money than even you Yankees moneybags... "The Nats have money to spend and aren't afraid to spend it"...ESPN.com.
They paid the most money to their draft picks of ANY team in MLB this year. This idea that the Nats don't have money to spend on FA is a myth.

27. Then they should make a big push
They are already much better than they used to be, and a player like Pujols would certainly rise attendance, would is a great way to bring up revenue. I'm not convinced Pujols along would make them win the wild card, but they would make a run at it (assuming everyone else stays healthy).

11. stay home
Don't be Lebron. Stay home make a little less. You will be remembered in a different light. Think of Stan Musial and how he is loved by St. Louis. St. Louis is one if not the greatest baseball town. Sorry NY and Boston but it's not even close and I am from NY.

14. fuck that...
He's a free agent and will now reap millions his skill.

If St.Louis can give it to him....well great. If not I don't begrudge him for looking for a payday.

15. Isn't St. Louis kind of a medium level market team as far as money?
Not Boston or NYC, but not Kansas City or Pittsburgh either.

And if Pujols is such a devout Christian he will abjure greed in favor of staying with the team that helped him build his career.

I always get a kick out of the Arm Chair fans deciding what is best for a player and his family.

He should not be making less than A-Rod.

19. In the NFL, a player like Pujols gets the franchise tag.
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 06:55 PM by KamaAina
Pity baseball doesn't have that. You'd really hate to see the face of the World Champs become just another cog in the (pick one: Yanks/Sox) machine. Cards fans would hate the Cubs option even more!!

edit: the franchise tag means they have to pay him, but get to keep him.
