McNabb to Vikes?
The Redskins desperately want to get something of value for quarterback Donovan McNabb. The Vikings desperately need a veteran quarterback. From that mutual desperation could arise a transaction between the two teams.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Vikings are “one of a few teams” that have talked with the Redskins about McNabb.

Any trade would require McNabb to restructure a contract that is scheduled to pay him $12.5 million in 2011.

McNabb previously had been linked to the Vikings, when his former offensive coordinator in Philly, Brad Childress, was the head coach in Minnesota. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/26/vikings-redskins-talking-mcnabb-trade/">Profootballtalk

I'd like to see Don end his career on a positive note. Chances of that happening in MN are better than they ar in most places.

1. It's apparently close to happening
All that remains are contract negotiations. I hope he does well. He was really treated like dirt here.

2. Wish he was coming to San Francisco
Might have been a chance had the lockout not occurred.

3. Read that Seattle
is going to sign Tarvairis Jackson and Matt Leinart. With Hasselbeck gone Jackson will likely have a job. He spent 4 seasons under one system, had decent numbers in 2008 which were improvements over prior seasons. He could have improved more but Minnesota got Brett Farve. We'll see if he learned anything from him but I think these are good signings for Seattle. Leinart will probably compete with Whitehurst for the backup job.

4. Who wins the NFC West this year?
Rams? There's much transition in other teams while St. Louis has the continuity.

5. Looks like the NFC West could have another 7-9 winner?
Or maybe even 6-10

8. I really wanted to like T Jack as a Vikings fan
but I'm not sure he has it. His speed is awesome. He can really throw the ball. But that guy just CANNOT settle down in the pocket. He gets to jittery and makes stupid decisions and stupid mistakes. Maybe that was just the Vikings training, but I don't think so. I wish him all the luck--he's a good guy.

7. As a Vikes fan, I'll take it.
As long as this is a year to work on bringing the rookie up to speed. Which I think is the plan.

9. For two sixth rounders.
How the mighty have fallen.

10. Even So
That's pretty cheap. He's better than what they have, he'll finally have a running game (although one less weapon in the passing game), and the kid isn't going to be ready in September.

11. I agree.
It's just that he must be cooked if all they could get was a sixth round pick for him. He was so great early in his career and has seemingly lost it all at once. Maybe he has something left and just couldn't get along with Shanahan. We'll see what happens.
