Was the QB move by Mike Shanahan & Son racially motivated?
I heard this on WTEM, DC Sports Radio station owned by Dan Snyder.

The point was that Shanahan & Son said they brought in Rex Grossman who supposed knew the offense better (i.e. was smarter than McNabb). The announcers were implying that this could be construed as racially motivated, and that Shanahan & Son handled the situation extremely poorly.

For the Bronco's fans: were there any extenuating circumstances behind the Shanahan firing, other than his team sucked?

1. WTEM is full of blathering idiots
They threw that out there for ratings, I bet. I stopped listening long ago, nothing but Redskins talk 365 days a year. And a lot of----'they've gotta man up and give it 110% and get it done'---nonsense.

5. Well after a few minutes of talking about it,
they did start backing down on that assertion.

2. I think this is BS...Shanahan was probably let go because Holy John still
pretty much calls the shots...it's like he owns the team.

3. Apparently not
judging by this snippet, bizarre even by 'Skins standards:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Shanahan-McNabb-s-cardiovascular-endurance-le?urn=nfl-281869

Shanahan's dedication to fit quarterbacks was demonstrated on Tuesday when former No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell(notes), who was last seen tipping the scales at nearly 300 pounds, was at Redskins Park for a workout.

:wtf:

4. Yeah. I saw that too. Glad to see Dan Snyder still have his hands in the operation.
