Let the Subway Series begin!

Should be a good set of games with the 22-19 Mets hosting the 21-20 Yankees who are riding at 9-1 following Steinbrenner's tongue-lashing of the "evil empire" . . . . Now its time to see if the Mets', with their 15-7 home record, will pull off a second sweep of their cross-town rivals . . .

Go Mets!

2. There should be a lot of good games this weekend.
I was hoping to see Pedro pitch tonight at Shea, but it looks like he won't pitch 'til Sunday. I think that will match him against the Big Unit -- now THAT should be a good game.

I hope the weather cooperates; it's supposed to be a stormy weekend in the Northeast.

BTW, the Atlanta - Boston series should be pretty good too. Right now they're exactly matched at 23-17 in their respective leagues. ;)

3. Actually 10-1
This series is only important to the Yankees because they need to start another streak.

8. Yankees win
but it was a very ugly game. Two errors in one inning for Jeter. But I'll take the win.

11. I never root for the Mets, but I'll make an exception
when they're playing the Yanquis.

Way to go Mets!

Let's hope Pedro has a great day tomorrow, and Pavano --well, not so much. ;)

12. What a sweet rubber game!
Pedro vs. Pavano. New Yorkers of all baseball persuasions should be walking around with smiles on their faces today.
