Girl pitches perfect game against boys (Little League)

I love this story since when I grew up I could pitch fairly decent but wasn't allowed to play little league with the boys. :applause:

Katie Brownell isn’t just the only girl playing on her Little League team. She’s dominant.

The shy 11-year-old pitched a perfect game Saturday for her Dodgers team. In two games on the mound, she’s struck out 32 of 33 batters in the Oakfield-Alabama Little League program.

She’s also batting .714 through the team’s first three games.

“She’s been pitching for three years, but she really came on and excelled this year,” said team manager Jeff Sage. “She bats really well. She’s a solid, all-around ballplayer.”

Oakfield-Alabama officials can’t remember anybody — boy or girl — ever throwing a perfect game in this western New York locale between Buffalo and Rochester.

Baseball seems like a game that women should be able to compete in with men on equal footing. Would be quite interesting to see a female pitcher psyching out a male batter or vice-versa.

It was 40+ years ago when I wanted to grow up to be a ballplayer, but had the wrong gender for the game. :sigh:

striking all them out like that but what I am curious to know about is how she was able to stay in all 6 innings, when I played and I was in little league as well, they didnt allow us to have complete games, still what a hell of a pitcher.
