Brooks Laich changes a tire after Game 7.
Cool story.

The whole thing lasted maybe 40 minutes. Laich got the tire changed, and cautioned Mary Ann to drive slowly on the way home, to listen closely for any rattling sounds. She agreed, and said she didn't know how she could possibly thank him.

"I'm sure you'll do something nice for someone in the future," Laich responded. He hugged them and drove off.

1. Pretty classy.
He couldn't have been a happy camper himself last night, so that makes his actions even nicer.

3. A guy who works at 'my' bar used to work downtown in a restaurant the Caps frequented
because they knew the owner. He said the were very nice.

Sports writers always say that hockey players are the nicest to deal with.

Good on Brooks.

4. Coming from a Habs fan...
Brooks Laich is a gritty hockey player and a fine human being (judging from this story). This was one hell of a series. I'm still amazed the Habs pulled it off. Guess Gabby will have to work hard on the Caps' power play next year if he wants to still claim he knows more about the PP than Wayne Gretzky...oh that's right, there may not be a next year for Gabby...(sorry, couldn't resist);-)
