Ok, I know I'm gloating, but I do have to ask you Yankee fans--who's gonna get canned? Would George even consider getting rid of joe?

3. NO JOE WON'T GO -- They will definitely
come back. Just watch..........I love Joe Torre -- Sexiest older man alive. But he and the boss screw with the line up too much. They need to pick a freakin team and stick with it for a couple years or at least for a whole season

my 2 cents

4. Since Steinbrenner's outburst back on April 17th, all he'll say...
in public is that Torre and Cashman are in charge of the team and they have to sort it out.

Steinbrenner has a horse running in the Kentucky Derby this weekend, so maybe after that race he'll focus more attention to his "little problem" in New York. I know the New York papers are going to be merciless tomorrow morning. :)

5. to understand what's happening with the Yankees, read this . . .

Epilogue: "The Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty"

on edit: this disgruntled Yankee fan is convinced that the Bombers won't win another World Series for a decade or longer . . . they're going to have to rebuild from the bottom up, and that's after the ridiculous contracts run their course . . . it's gonna take time, and it ain't gonna be pretty . . .

9. I agree with that assessment--even if they get it together and have
a decent season, they won't win it all. They have the talent still, but no fire.

6. It's not looking good...
The buying old people and giving them huge contracts has finally bit the Yanks. We could've gotten Beltran but went for Johnson. We could've gotten Guerrero but went for Sheffield. And why the hell did we get Brown anyway?

I have two favorite baseball teams. Unfortunately the other one's the Royals, so I guess Murphy's Law holds true (especially since my last name's Murphy...).

10. Yeah, it's like they're buying the past glory, and not those who
have a future.

7. on this topic... did anyone see the pic of Cashman's head
sitting in front of Stienbrenner at the Stadium. It was in Newsday yesterday. I've been looking for it on the web with no luck.

They are both sitting in the Boss' box but it looks like Cashman's head is on the counter in front of George, you cant see his body.

12. No one's gonna get canned....
...unless the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the standings and they don't make the playoffs.

Thankfully Big Stein is too preoccupied with his Derby horse right now to flip out.
