Proposal: Two Weeks of Yankee-Red Sox Smack, Then a Truce
Whadda ya think? We can say anything (no personal insults, of course) about each other's teams, and get it out of our systems. Then we call a truce until the All-Star break. Until that time we only say nice things. For example, I'll say, "Derek Jeter sure makes a fine-looking woman!"

Wait, that is a compliment--see SNL of three years ago!

Do you think two weeks is enough? Do you think waiting until the All-Star break is too long? Or is Yankee-Red Sox smack so much a part of the fiber of our beings that it just has to be let out however and whenever?

Suggestions please!

1. You're never going to stop the whining and hubris of the Yankee fan
So 2 weeks is out of the question...

2. But...
the season is two weeks old, so does that mean the truce starts now?!

I sure hope so.

:)

3. Nah, I was thinking once we agreed, the two weeks would begin...
...but I'm figuring a lot of people would want more than two weeks!

4. We don't play them again for a while
so things should settle of their own accord.

5. Memorial Day weekend, I think
At Fenway.

We close the regular season against them in NY. Could be interesting.

7. Definitely could be interesting...we always play the skankees late
in the season, but I can't recall it ever being the season-ending series.

6. I don't know, I am so tempted to say Sheffield is being a real p**ck
now that he's been exonorated. Of course, in the interest of good will, I won't say that!

13. Update! After this last week, I propose a truce now!
Stupid Red Sox!

I'm not real concerned just yet--this is their typical pattern of how they start the year--blazing in April, but close to May, they slump.
