Indoor football is more boring to watch and unfair to the visiting team.
The noise levels directed at the visiting team aren't really fair.

But, playing on a glorified pool table is just not as interesting as playing on real grass in the weather.

1. It's a different animal, to be sure
I'm not so sure it's always or even usually boring. And while there's no doubt that a fired-up home crowd in a dome can play havoc with teh visiting team's offensive signal calling, apparently the statistics do not bear out the impression of an increased home field advantage, at least in the playoffs:

The basics are this: home teams have gone 234-110 in the playoffs since the AFL merger. That's a rock-solid .680 winning percentage.

Dome teams, meanwhile, are 27-15 (.642), including last week's indoor wins by the Cardinals and Cowboys.

But that number is very misleading: the prolific statistical oddity that is Kurt Warner is 7-0 at home in his domes in St. Louis and Arizona. The rest of the indoor quarterbacks and indoor teams of the world have gone just 20-15 (.571) in their very own home arenas.

That .571 is far below the standards for home teams in the playoffs -- especially when you consider that teams get home games in the playoffs because they were better than their visitors in the regular season.

Still, as a Michigan native I like to see the elements come into play now and then...

2. Meh.
Outdoor stadiums can be just as unfair to the visitors...See someone like Miami playing in NE or Buffalo in the snow.
I prefer outdoor stadiums but I'm just saying that the claim that the dome is more unfair than weather advantage is kind of..well...lame.

3. I guess it depends on your definition of boring.
I tend to like a good defensive game, but the dome teams are built for speed which means high points (i.e. your Saints and my Vikings). Take a look at how they perform on real grass. And how the outdoor teams water log the grass to slow the speed team down even further.

I don't think either one is inherently more boring or unfair. They each have their benefits (pretty splendid post here, huh?)

4. Yeah, there's gonna be at least one indoor team in the SB...maybe
two...and two of them can't play outdoors.

Those Danny White coached Arizona Rattlers were good. A professional sports team(other than the D-Backs) in Arizona to actually win championships.

I've been to a few Rattler games years ago and it was fun.
