Togo 'withdraw' from Africa cup

Togo's national football squad have reportedly decided to withdraw from the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, a day after their bus came under fire.

The attack, claimed by separatist fighters in Cabinda province, killed at least three people and wounded nine others, including two players.

Latest reports, however, suggest that the players will make the final decision about the team's withdrawal from the continent's premier football tournament.

Read this earlier but couldn't find a reason why the team was fired upon. This link provides one:

"The Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda (Flec), which has been fighting for independence for three decades, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was aimed at the team's military escorts."
