Yeah---I hate when a team runs up the score in the first half.

1. Maybe we're all just very wrong...
Maybe the real point of playing football really ISN'T to score points...

I can't believe we've all been so fooled all these years!

13. Don't you see? The whole point is to score exactly enough points to stay ahead
You should only maintain a lead of 1 point. 3 is pushing it. If you're up 10 then you're just running up the score.

Fuck this argument and fuck the people who make it. It was fun watching the Brady Bunch play like it was 2007 again.

2. NFL players get a pay check so I'm not too concerned about a team being humilated
I think a bit differently when it's college or high school but with pro ball it's an occasional part of the job.

3. Now, if they had racked another 45 on the board in the second half,
yeah. That's running up the score. Didn't Bellicheck do that a couple of years ago? Seems like he really took his foot off the gas pedal in the second half, this time.

4. True. The Giants had the decency to pull Manning in the 2nd quarter last week
when they were stomping all over Oakland.

I think there would have been some discussion in the sports media if the Pats had kept going at the scoring pace of the 1st half.

5. Ironically, what I was commenting to Patsie fans in 2007 when they
were pushing the scores and keeping Brady in for the entire game, that they could risk Brady suffering an injury. I guess Bellichek learned that lesson last year, that Brady is vulnerable.

6. Some people see it as indecent....I see it as
an opportunity for the offense to keep honing its skills. Yeah, it's at the expense of the other team, but a winning season doesn't come from a team sitting on the sidelines just watching.

And going for a play on 4th and whatever...indecent? Rude? Or, again, giving the team a chance to practice for when they might have to do it in a crucial game.

I wouldn't begrudge some other team doing it. If my team can't stop them, then why should I sit there and whine?

8. What you see as a chance to hone your skills, I see as an opportunity
of risking injury to your most valuable players. If a coach wants to risk that, then that's his prerogative. It just seems foolish to me. Yeah, there were several pats fans back in 2007 that made the same argument you just did.

Why not let the second and third strings in to get some real-game experience?

12. Screw it. Belichick shoulda left Brady in and let him go for Van Brocklin's record (7 TDs).

15. Well They Do Have A History
I remember a game against the giants where they were ahead by 28 points, with about two and a half minutes left in the game. They're in the red zone, and brady throws a td pass to the end zone. It happened more than once that year.

Yes, I know brady threw 5 tds in the second quarter, and he was taken out in the 2nd half. Wish it was for my team, but obviously that is not the case.

My team (Packers) suck, and there's nothing I can do about it.:(
