Brett Favre Tries To End Eugene Wilson's Career
<snip>

"Brett Favre's hugely unwanted return took yet another impressive turn Monday night as he threw a ridiculously dirty block on Texans safety Eugene Wilson. Not only was it properly called (a 15-yard penalty), but it was - and I'll state this loudly for the second time - extremely dirty. As Ron Jaworski pointed out, that's a potential career-ender. Here's the official rule:

An offensive player who lines up more than two yards outside his own tackle or a player who, at the snap, is in a backfield position and subsequently takes a position more than two yards outside a tackle may not clip an opponent anywhere nor may he contact an opponent below the waist if the blocker is moving toward the ball and if contact is made within an area five yards on either side of the line. (crackback)

Now, Favre has been playing since before they had facemasks, so you'd think he'd know this rule. Anyway, I hope Favre cracked his rib a little more on that block.

As for Wilson, no one's sure how bad his injury as of right now. But if it's a torn ACL, Favre should just be glad the Vikings don't play Houston in the regular season. Otherwise, Mario Williams would probably kill him."

1. I watched the game
Not exactly a position (WR) is used to playing and having play ran into his direction puts him in a spot he's not used to. I say it was a bad play call by the Vikings but obviously it was an illegal block by Brett. Though I wouldn't expect Brett to be strongly familiar with blocking techniques and I don't feel like his intentions was to hurt the guy and he was simply trying to make the play. Other then that Brett had a solid peformance.

5. The ESPN announcers were positively nauseating with their worship of Favre
All he was doing was dinking and dunking all night long. They were getting their yardage courtesy of the Texans poor tackling. He didn't do anything that any other quarterback would do. Except for the cheap shot that is.

6. No, I actually did watch the game
He made plays down field. Including one where he escaped a safety and found a receiver. He also made throws some tight throws as well but mostly they were about 10 yards down field which is about the attempts most quarterbacks throw. If it wasn't a solid peformance what was it? It wasn't a crappy peformance.

7. I've seen every game he has ever played
regular and post season. He pulls boneheaded shit like that when he is desperate. Lil' early in the season to be desperate.

He better get used to escaping safeties. After that cheap shot evry DB in the league will be gunning for his ass. Especially in light of the new Brady rule. Childress admits he screwed up on the call. Vikes' fans should get used to hearing that

9. I think I know Brett Favre pretty well (Actually agreeing with you here)
Even when he was a few years younger he'd throw interceptions that you won't see other quarterbacks attempt and leave you wondering :wtf: However I still believe he is a better QB then half the QBs currently on the roster and I feel like he could start for teams such as Bills, 49ers, Browns, and so on.

4. Yeah, Bret wasn't trying to hurt the guy, he was just trying to show what a dick he is.
And if Wilson got hurt, so be it. He makes me sick.
