1. Don't worry, no one will be there.

2. I saw that...oh, the irony!
I forget who on Cleveland said it, but it was something like, it appears Cleveland has decided to start from scratch in letting Martinez go.

3. It's money. Larry Dolan, owner, will not authorize a higher payroll
What else can Mark Shapiro do? Trade the stars for prospects, sign them long-term, and hope to contend in another two or three years. It's a perpetual cycle. Same boat Billy Bean is in over at Oakland.

You want Grady Sizemore? Asdrubal Cabrera? Just wait a couple years. You'll get them.

:grr:

4. The Marlins were this way, too
But ever since 2002, when Jeffery Loria took over, they have kept the team in contention for a long time. And we have had winning seasons for the last 3 years.

5. Well, moeny isn't everything...but it is obviously a lot of what
makes teams contenders...you can't really succeed in this day and age without shelling out some bucks.

6. Larry Dolan is a cheap bastard that paid too much for this team originally and he has
been trying to get his money back ever since. Why should the fans be blamed if he (and the city) got snowed by Dick Jacobs, a true businessman.
