Presiding Bishop Elect suffering from Resume Inflation

The newly elected presiding bishop of the U.S. Episcopal Church lists as her major qualifications for office positions at two institutions shrouded in mystery and without any formal accreditation if they exist at all. ......

Asked in writing to explain her reference to this presumably phantom school of theology in her resume, Schori responded: "The Good Samaritan School of Theology was the then-rector's term for all adult education programs, both internally and externally focused. ...............

Asked to explain "El Buen Samaritano," and her priestly duties there, Schori explained: "El Buen Samaritano was the Spanish-language congregation based at Good Samaritan, essentially a parochial mission. I acted as vicar with primary liturgical and pastoral responsibility."

This stinks. Read the entire article, but the gist is for you Christian Education Directors - lay or clergy - you are now deans of theological schools! Congratulation on the promotion.

1. WorldNutDaily is a right-wing hack site
which is undoubtedly doing its best to slime this (gasp!) liberal female bishop.

3. If her written answers are correctly quoted

the source is not the issue.

Good Samaritan Corvallis is not a school of theology nor is it a Mission for Spanish language outreach ... but perhaps had the mission of Spanish language outreach.

Post election, I tried to look up these references by web searching and chalked up my failure to inherent church lack of web presence .... this article better explains why there might be no there there.

2. Interesting. does not return any whois information. Also, the responses to the article don't read like anything I have ever heard from real Episcopalians.

And I was raised in the church.

I smell Ahmenson, Scaife and Weyrich.

Oh, WorldNutDaily is just another manure stain on the Internet. Pay it no mind.

4. Well let's crucify the wench

I've been forced to work with some seminarians from one of the FINEST Theology schools in the nation. As a baptised, confirmed, and longtime practicing (sadly, no longer) Episcopalian, I can tell you that this School of Theology seems to train nothing more than arrogant assholes who feel entitled to preferential treatment.

They had zero personality or class, no empathy or humility whatsoever, and they even went so far as to demand that the business I helped manage be run according to THEIR rules.

These "servants of Christ" determined that my 63-year old employee and all others were not "good enough" to be seen by them. They forced me to make these employees take breaks in a room out of sight from them, as these new Episcopal priests don't want to be in the same room as the great unwashed poverty-ridden people who do their bidding.

They absolutely disgusted me and reaffirmed my decision to leave the Church. One had the audacity to tell me he'd pray for me.

I said, "Please don't. PLEASE don't do that. Just try being a nicer person. Can you do that?"

No, they can't. And I would hate to be a member of these ugly humans' future parishes. They are NOTHING like the wonderful priests I've known all my life.

So wherever this Bishop got her education, if it wasn't at this particular School of Theology, it's allright by me.

Now I have to go find some way to remove these awful memories this post stirred up. :grr:
