Religious extremism: From Phelps to Prevo
The way we talk to each other seems to be getting surprisingly uglier. Racist, bigoted, backwater arguments of bygone centuries are reintroducing themselves by way of online comment sections, and even in the editorial pages of news publications, polluting important conversations that our crucial to the sustainability and functionality in society.

The most famous national cesspool of this variety of filth erupted out of Topeka, Kansas, back in 1955. The Westboro Baptist Church, led by Fred Phelps and 70 of his closest clowns, is all too well known for crafting the nastiest slogans and using them as human billboards, parading up and down streets in front of schools, government buildings, and fallen soldiers' funeral services.
