One-third of world Anglican leaders miss Dublin meeting

More than a third of the worldwide leaders of the Anglican Church failed to attend last week’s primates’ meeting in Dublin.

The senior bishops or archbishops of all 38 provinces were invited to the six-day meeting at the Emmaus Retreat Centre in Swords, but only 24 turned up.

A number of primates said they would not attend the biennial meeting because of the presence of the controversial head of the Episcopal Church of the USA, Dr Katharine Jefferts Schori, a supporter of same-sex marriage and the ordination of practising gay bishops ...

1. Get the split over with.
Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked,
Caring for the widow and orphan, comforting the prisoner are more worth while
Than continuing a conversation with backwards thinking
People about the rightful equality of women and lgbtiq people.
