I love it here but is there a forum that is "the" place for atheists to hang out?

1. How about a group for non-theists?
Atheists
Agnostics
Humanists
Ethical Culturalists
Unitarians

3. DU has an Atheists forum. But for some reason they own the Religion/Theology forum.

Different mission than this issue forum, don't you think? Regardless of if you do or not, the admins do.

Edited to add: you do know there are Groups for different flavors of religion here as well, right?

6. True that it does have a different mission.
'In this forum it is inappropriate to belittle those with religious beliefs or to engage in demeaning or hateful speech toward members of DU who may hold such beliefs.'

Since the Religion/Theology doesn't have such a rule, that must be why they hang out here.

I don't care about people's religion or lack thereof, but I just find it interesting that this room is intolerance central at DU.

10. Clearly you weren't paying attention in the gungeon.
Nor were your "hateful speech" sensors calibrated properly in GD threads regarding women, obesity, or most current events involving the president.

17. +1
Funny that many people who get up in arms about intolerance toward believers are often nowhere to be found on threads full of misogynist, anti-poor, anti-obese, etc. comments. I guess they're ok with those types of comments because they don't challenge the status quo.

16. We all know that reality has a distinctly atheistic bias.
We don't "own" this forum, we just post in it.

4. You could call it...
...the Highway to hell Forum?

Wait, I don't believe in hell either. Well, yes I do, just not the biblical hell. Does that make me an atheist, too?

You know, every time you've claimed that atheists on this board are using some form of "psychic insight", it has been one of two things:

1. A simple summary of your attempts to baffle with bullshit in order to make responding to it more coherent, or
2. direct responses to things you've said that you then claim were somehow nothing close to what you meant.

In both cases, it is clear to anyone with a 6th grade reading level that your "psychic insight" posts are nothing but backtracking, spin, and sometimes even outright lies. You can keep doing it, since obviously no one can stop you, but the older it gets the worse it makes you look.

Just FYI.
