Way too individualistic/nationalistic for this Catholic.

5. Authoritarianism.
That's the kind of God they're looking for; one that will be strict with them because they don't trust themselves to be behave on their own.

7. And insist on strict adherence to a set of irrelevant rules
while worshiping a god who supposedly granted Free Will? Oh, and they sure seem to pick and choose WHICH rules they have to live by while attempting to apply all of them to others.

It's the Terrible Twos on steroids.

14. Fear works.
Their lives aren't complete unless they can attest and firmly believe someone upstairs is running this great big show.

Apparently, you really, REALLY have to kiss God's ass to make God work for you. And give you a new Buick.

If God didn't want Adam and Eve to reproduce through "sin," why did he make a uterus for Eve? Storage?

Edit: for clarity

18. I came (no pun intended) to the same conclusion, Havocmom.
If God didn't want us to enjoy sex and have it often then why does it feel so good....if done properly, that is.

24. It's a joke. When God created humans, It gave them the capability
of having orgasms. Then It forbade sexual activity, except under specific circumstances. When humans weren't capable of resisting having orgasms, It watched and laughed to see the conflict.

There are lots of jokes like that. We don't get them, but God and his buddies do.

It takes all the complication out of a complicated world if you can live with tunnel vision and wear the Bible like kevlar to defend against uncomfortable ideas.

Really.

I need to know, now that you've made the distinction.

27. There are some
Highly religious Catholics are more inclined to at least support government assistance for the disadvantaged, and more inclined to be against US military adventures all over the world.

Catholics are much less inclined to proselytize too.

they listen to people who have the power to convince them they need only to believe and not question. their lack of the understanding of the biblical passages and events is profound.

they are entitled to believe as they wish but they should`t tell me their christ is better than mine.

36. I don't get any religion
They are all based on old myths, written by people thousands of years ago to control the societies of those times.

It is totally irrelevant today, has been for hundreds of years.
