Chainmail Hacky Sack!
Take a look!

This durable footbag is handcrafted from more than 330 rings of 17 gauge galvanized steel wire. Each ring has an internal diameter of 7/32" and the bag itself weighs just over seven ounces.

Thanks for looking!

1. Please forward this to five friends
You will have bad luck if you break the chain. Robert L. Snickety broke his neck after falling off a ladder for tossing his hackey sack chain mail into the trash.

Lilian MacCrumblebybum won a new car in her grandson's elementary school sweepstakes within minutes of forwarding her letter to five friends.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

5. Because that wouldn't be as cool.
And it would be more likely to roll away when dropped!

3. It's filled with GLASS?
Might that be dangerous if the metal chipped the glass?

4. Yes, glass!
I've been using a set of these as juggling balls for about two years without running into any sharp edges.

If someone went out of their way to break one of the beads into some dangerous shape, I suppose they could succeed. But routine use wouldn't do it.

7. I bought the juggling balls...for use as hacky sacks.....
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 03:41 PM by canadianbeaver
the only thing my husband has said is that it hurts to do a header with them.....is it possible to use a smaller diameter of wire? oh...and fill them with plastic beads instead of the glass....might make them less painful....I tried to do a header myself to see how bad it hurts...its not that bad but if used for a lengthy period, could possibly bruise. Just sayin.

but overall...I enjoyed buying and getting them.

edit: not the diameter, but the gauge.

8. You Canucks just need harder heads.
Good suggestions, though, and thanks for the kind words.

I used to make them with 17gg wire instead of 16gg, but the links tended to open after extended use. Lately I've considered stuffing them with cloth instead of beads, and that would certainly reduce the mass.

Must ponder...
