Edie Adams died at age 81 in Los Angeles.
She was married to the late Ernie Kovacs, was very popular on stage and screen and I believe played Daisy Mae back in the 50s. She died of pneumonia and cancer. She was very funny and quite talented and had graduated from Julliard. Her plan was to go into opera, met Ernie and went in his direction. Tried to copy and paste her obit with no luck. Anyway, for those old enough, she was a great entertainer..

4. Ernie didn't like to pay taxes. So when he died, she went broke.
I was in love with her. Especially her doing the cigar commercials.

5. She was beautiful and talented.
I liked her commercials for Muriel cigars. Any little girl growing up with my unusual name naturally would love Edie.

I remember Ernie. He was an offbeat, funny and original comedian. He liked cigars and fast cars. One of the fast cars lead to his untimely death.

Ernie used to have a PBS show about early films, called "The Toy that Grew Up." It was a great series.

RIP Edie.

6. She was great in "The Apartment".
Another wonderful Edie Adams role was in The Apartment(1960) as the jilted secretary out for revenge. A funny lady who could handle dramatic roles as well.
