Just finished the new Harry Potter (no spoilers.) 21 hr audiobook
Edited on Mon Jul-23-07 02:14 PM by wakeme2008
Loved it but I went into shutdown mode. No TV, No Internet, Pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner :) I did not want anybody to spoil the ending for me. I brought the book at 12:05AM Sat and the audiobook started on the showing up on the net at 12:00pm Sat. :) I finished it around 11:30 today.

2. Coventina just finished it too, and called me in a frantic, need to discuss it w/someone even if

they haven't read it yet mode. I'm waiting until I can borrow it from someone as I'm holding off purchasing it until the Xmas boxed sets become available.

Killing me though...

Oh, yeah, the point of my post. She said she wasn't very happy with the way some of the major events happened, and some of it went against the way it seemed Rowling had been setting up in past books. So some of it not so good, but some of it was just perfect.

Would you agree with that non-spoiler synopsis?

5. Nope, it was amazing.

It really tied everything together.

I thought it was near perfect.

Wonderful, wonderful. Thank god my daughter finished it. We have each other to talk to about it. She started right after I put it down & went to bed at 2:00 a.m.

I can't wait til more people read it so we can have a really big discussion on it!

6. I've spoken to some who weren't happy with the way some things turned out...
But then again, people aren't always happy with the way things turn out in real life. The way I see it is that it happened the way it happened, and whether we always like the way it happened is irrelevant. In Rowling's reality that's just the way it is.

I, personally, was thrilled with the whole adventure from page one of book one to page 759 of book seven.

3. I got it at noon on Saturday
and finished it around 3:00 pm on Sunday.

I was completely satisfied with the book. It met, and even exceeded all my expectations, and brought the entire saga to a beautiful conclusion. These seven books will live on as being among the greats in the literature of the English language. Well done J.K.R.!

4. I got ahold of the book after my GF finished it and just finished myself a bit ago
Loved it. We are currently doing our regular picking at plotholes and such.

7. Not the best in the series, but very good nonetheless
I finished it at 5am on Sunday morning. It did a very good job at wrapping up the plot themes, and the action really never let up throughout. Without giving anything away, I thought JK went on a few too many tangents, and I was a bit disappointed with the Epilogue. Other than that, no complaints.
