New Mexico Dem Supreme court 30,000 more votes than Kerry
Edited on Sun Nov-28-04 05:38 PM by FullCountNotRecount
That seems like a lot. Two statewide candidates (democratic) had 30-40 thousand more votes than Kerry. Don't have link but search New Mexico Secretary of State if you want to see.

1. If you want people to go to link, give it to them. here it is:
http://www.sos.state.nm.us/

(rule of thumb: if it is important enough to alert people, don't make the 1000 or so people who see this thread all do the same search. As a courtesy).

4. I am not knocking your assessment, but...

JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT
EDWARD L. CHAVEZ Democratic 415049 57.6%
NED S. FULLER Republican 305172 42.4%

New Mexico is still a very racially and culturally divided state. A hispanic could easily vote for bush the republican and also for the CHAVEZ the hispanic over the white s. ct. candidate.

Not saying there wasn't voter fraud.... but straight or split party tickets for court nominees in any state is not necessarily indicative of anything.

On edit --- yes, the dem ct nominee did get about 30 or 40 thousand more votes. But could be because of the above reason --- sticking with your own over party lines.

7. This is a good post because florida is similar; why are the citizens
choosing democrat senators in democratic counties but not a democratic president.

In 2000, Bush got 12,000 more votes than the Republican Congressional candidates. Al Gore got 13,000 less than the Democratic candidates.

In 2004, Bush got 19,000 more votes than the Republican Congressional candidates. John Kerry got 13,000 less than the Democratic candidates.

The numbers DO show that the Democratic State Supreme Court Justice got 415,000 votes, adn the Democratic candidate to the state court of appeals got 405,000 votes! Meanwhile Kerry only got 370,000 votes.

There were about 756,000 votes cast in the Presidential election in NM in 2004, and about 720,000 in the Supreme Court contest, and about 719,000 in the State Appeals Court contest.

11. Does this become prima facia evidence of fraud in NM?
Attorneys believe a similar situation (65,000) votes do constitute prima facia evidence of fraud in Ohio.
