I called the national Obama campaign about the election fraud & lack of leadership from his campaign

I am waiting to be called back by a more 'senior' person...

I told them that those of us who are working to prevent another election theft in 08 need support from the Obama campaign. I told them that we are working to ensure a Obama win, where is Obama?

I asked if he had any major speeches or plans to address the vote caging going on by the GOP, and what were the actions going to be in response to the McCains ballots sent out en masse to swing states?

I basically volunteered to help the campaign in whatever capacity I could to address the issue - just let me know. I will do it for free, there are many of us who ARE doing it for free, just with no acknowledgement from our democratic candidate of the scale and work that needs to be done to promote awareness.

I will let you know what I hear from the campaign. If they don't get back to me, I will get back to them. Anyone else interested in calling the national headquarters, the number is:

(866) 675-2008

Toll Free People - Let them know that we need Obama to lead on this issue. And, he has the perfect opening to do it with McCain's recent ballot stunt...

Give em a call. The more the better.

2. I'm curious what Dean is doing too.

I expect he's working his tail off.

It's not like Dean and Dems don't know how it can be done. Take a look at this video where he is shown how to steal votes.

5. The silence is deafening. They know. I am not sure why they have been so complacent

This absentee ballot scam is an outrage.

I am discouraged as well. Election fraud is a huge elephant (a disgusting REPUBLICAN elephant) in the room. They are going to try to steal it, AGAIN. And, the dems have a much harder case to make since they have been silent on this for so long.

11. how do I get ahold of her
also please help with spreading the word. I think it would accomplish 3 goals 1) making sure our supporters can actually vote 2) possible awaking the MSM (if there is a critical mass for this call to action) to report it and then talk about electoral cheating 3) put Republican officials and Poll workers on notice that the progressive movement will be much more vigilant and pro-active in protecting their supporters voting rights this time around.

4. In all fairness to the Obama camp
It may be that they know the situation and are trying not to tip their hand.
At least I can hope that is the case.

6. I don't think so, the type of fraud being perpetrated by the GOP

It will require a mass education campaign in vulnerable states to counteract. Obama is the only one who can garner enough press to inform enough voters.

At the VERY least, he could be providing state directives to each state and local campaign. I have heard nothing about this from any of the state camps. Monday, I am calling the swing state state operation offices to figure out what type of handle they have on this...

8. This cannot be just about young, educated, etc....
There needs to be a public announcement on Prime Time several times. If widespread election fraud has been proven, then it is the biggest issue even over local events. There is also a lot of hate out there for no reason and for propaganda reasons. I hear it.
There is a law that states that each Candidate must be allowed the same air time. I think some of that should be high profile interview with say Biden or maybe Obama and this issue should be a good portion of it.
The Media is breaking the law by not providing the same amount of time. Also... given that they are full of Republicans, I think there needs to be a step up on this awareness for the American People.

10. Recommended! This needs more attention.
It's my opinion that more heads working on this is a good thing. Not the "too many chefs" concept.

I love your forthrightness in going to them and volunteering. I think it's really important that we get full steam on this.

I'm inspired by your post here. This, to me, is what makes this a better country.

I'm not sure what I can do, but I would love to help out. fI may just call to tell them to let others add their efforts.

19. I think calling the campaign directly and speaking with them will have an impact

Calling the campaign can have a big impact. Especially, if they receive calls from concerned voters in swing states.

12. debbierlus, you are INSPIRING. I am going to call them too. And email them. I just got
two links to voting protection sites but it's all very nebulous about what they are going to do. It's all "Send us money. It costs lots of money to file suits, blah blah". Yes, it does cost lots of money to file suits, but it's too frickin late for that now.

You have the right idea. MEDIA COVERAGE. That probably means Barack and Joe have to bring it up during an interview; otherwise, the corporate hacks won't touch it with a ten-foot pole. Have either of them gone on record on this before?? You'd think it would be VERY IMPORTANT TO THEM NOW. Eh?

I'll provide some links to a new video and some sites later.

Thanks for posting this.

13. Okay, go to StealingAmericathemovie.org for the trailer for the movie--which was already
listed in another thread on DU, so my apologies if I'm duping this.

Also, novoterleftbehind.net and stealbackyourvote.org are resources that northernlights educated me about.

Aug. 5, 2008 Obama gets the legal teams ready to fight back...

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0808/Obama_signs_up_lawyers.html

Obama general counsel Bob Bauer emails lawyers and law students that the campaign is setting up an "unprecedented" new "voter protection" program -- a standard feature of Democratic campaigns, but given the general enthusiasm for Obama, and the specific enthusiasm (according to my anecdotal sense) among legal types, probably on a very large scale.

Record of Advocacy:

http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/issues/HowardConvocationFactSheet.pdf

Barack Obama has worked to promote civil rights and fairness in the criminal justice system throughout his career. As a community organizer, Obama helped 150,000 African Americans register to vote. As a civil rights lawyer, Obama litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases. As a State Senator, Obama passed one of the country's first racial profiling laws and helped reform a broken death penalty system. And in the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leading advocate for protecting the right to vote, helping to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act and leading the opposition against discriminatory barriers to voting.
