What are the odds that BOTH my 20-something, registered-as-Democratic daughters would receive jury
notices at the same time (NOW!)?

They both are legally registered at my address, or they were at the last election and have NEVER been called for jury duty.

With the shit the pukes are pulling all over the country, it seems like too much of a coincidence this close to a possibly-close-enough-to-steal election. This has been one of their techniques for "cleaning" the voter registration rolls. I am positive that a non-response would result in their being purged from the rolls.

For decades, the thugs here (Montgomery County, PA) have done too many despicable things like this to ensure their majority. In the past, when they were overwhelmingly the majority, Democratic registration forms and absentee ballots were consistently found in the county garbage cans. Today, even with the demographics changing to a more even split, they still control county government (and thus, the voting process). They recently bought Sequoia voting machines!

So, I would not be surprised in the least if this was one of the NEW-GOP's more sophisticated tactics.

3. Depends on how the names are picked
do they do it from Motor vehicle registrations? Voter Files? Seems like someone might have been lazy and just pulled 2 from the same last name.

4. We need good citizens on juries. They should respond. It's how we keep control of our government.
So I wouldn't let it throw you for a loop.

Here in MT juries are selected from drivers licenses.

5. I live in Philadelphia. I get called for jury duty every 2 or 3 years, like clockwork.
With so many people thinking jury duty is beneath them, the jury pool shrinks. Too bad you feel that this is some kind of dirty trick. Jury duty is one of the obligations of being a citizen. More than that, I think your daughters might find it an interesting experience in itself, as I do.

6. No one thinks this could be part of a voter-cleansing act by the repugs who run this county?
Those who have lived here for a long time (32 years for me) know that this would be totally in-character for the MontCo GOP. They were cruder and more arrogant in the past. Now, they rely on more sophisticated techniques.

As for actually being on a jury, both my daughters would be great, fair jurors. I would love to but have never been selected for a panel. Granted, I would not be as good a juror as either of them because of my anti-cop views and experience.

Just because I am paranoid does not mean this isn't a GOP dirty trick.

7. No. And why would your daughters ignore the call to jury duty anyway?
You seem to think of jury duty as some kind of punishment. Where exactly is the county supposed to get the people to sit on juries, if not from its resident citizens? It's a part of our system.

If you are somehow entertaining the thought that it's fine for your daughters to not respond to a call to perform a civic duty, you have a strange idea of citizen involvement in government. I see no problem with people being dropped from the voting rolls as a consequence of treating jury duty so casually.

8. Why not post something on Craigslist and try to determine if it's a pattern?
Could be coincidence, or not. Are jury pool records public information? If so, you might be able to check whether there's a correlation between people whose summons have recently gone unanswered (or been returned as undeliverable) and people who have been purged from the registration list. Might take some digging.
