Oh gawd. You’re not going to believe this, but BlackBoxVoting has posted pictures on their website (hat tip to Ox for sending me the link) of the actual boxes with the ballots in them, of the two men in charge of delivering the ballots to where the recount is to take place, and of the condition of these IMPORTANT boxes!

If you believe in the security of our voting system in this country, do NOT…I repeat…do NOT look at the following pictures or READ THIS LINK, because you’re going to be very disappointed:

Okay, let’s look at this picture for a moment. On the side of it, it says, “Voting Booth Lights”. If you were told to throw out any box that doesn’t look like it contains voting ballots, you would choose this one to throw in the dumpster. Yes you would! Admit it.

Here’s another picture of America’s precious voting ballots from the New Hampshire primary:



You guessed it! It’s a W.B. Mason box filled with American precious votes. Again, if you saw this box, you immediately wouldn’t think that it contained ballots.

could roll them boxes into a grocery store and everyone would think you are delivering groceries, You could roll them boxes into a bar and everyone would think you were delivering booze, you could roll them boxes around the block and everyone would think you are UPS/FEDEX.

My point you could go and or do what ever you want to do with them boxes in full view of the public and no one would be the wiser.

25. I wrote that on my blog...

...because I figured the normal Joe/Jane out there would throw a box of ballots away if they saw one of these boxes with the writing on the outside. You'd hope someone would double-check the boxes, but we're human, and sometimes we can't be trusted.

Also, my phrase, "If you were asked" meant if someone wanted to steal an election and you were asked by this person in your district to throw out the boxes in the back room that didn't look like ballot boxes, you might chose the one marked, "Voting Booth Lights", thinking it was a box full of lights and not ballots.

See? It was a hypothetical situation I created in my original post.

And I do consider the management of our elections to be in shambles. You don't need to be paranoid to realize the system is insecure.

I don't doubt there are chain of custody issues. Nor do I doubt that there are "activists" making reformers look asinine.

Instead of breathlessly dramatic hypothetical scenarios, why don't you fully document reality. Else you come off like...er...""activists" making reformers look asinine".

Most discerning regulars of this forum, in addition to the understandable hesitation to believe on it's face the utterances of bbv, look at the OP and think to themselves..."I really can't be sure what is going on in those pictures". It's no surprise that critical thinking, honesty, and verifiability are things held dear by many election reform activists.

You, however, gush that it's a great post.

Please share with your colleagues what it is that makes the post so great. (We'll put aside the fact that there is another thread on the matter questioning what significance, if any, to attribute.)

The whole point of my post was to question the responsibility of those who are in charge of our ballots and to show how easy it is to mistake non-ballot boxes from real ballot boxes. The pictures speak for themselves, but if everyone here wants to believe that our elections are soundproof, then so be it. That's your belief. Insulting Bev Harris is not warranted here. At least she CARES about what is going on behind the backs of Americans for crying out loud.

Thank you at the very least for bringing MORE attention to this matter. If our elections were honest and secure, then BradBlog wouldn't have been spending as much time on this subject as he has. Our elections are no different than a Banana Republic's elections! Sad, but true.
