NH Secretary of State Bill Gardner cut open the first box of ballots shortly after 10 o’clock,
--------------
Gardner then issued the 12 counters, who worked in teams of two, some basic marching orders.

"I want a fair recount, and to do that we need to look at every single ballot, and let the candidate have observers and look at the ballots. That’s what out reount is -- a count of the ballots of that were cast at the polling place."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The recount will resume later this morning. State officials say it will last until all ballots are counted, which could take several weeks, or it could end anytome Dennis Kucinich decides to call it off.

How to read these results:
These results are from the DEMOCRATIC recount only. The towns listed below are the towns where the recount is complete. The set of numbers under the candidate(s) name reflect the number of votes reported to the Secretary of State's office after the January 8, 2008 Presidential Primary Election. The number to the right (under the column marked "recount") is the number of votes the candidate(s) received after the recount of votes in that town.

4. this may help
This is the text of an email sent by the Asst. NH SoS today, at about 10:30AM

There is a pending correction that is subject to a minor delay in getting posted. Bill Richardson received 184 votes in the town of Bedford in the Presidential Primary recount. This count was mistakenly posted as zero last night.

Anthony Stevens

Assistant Secretary of State

New Hampshire
