HEADS UP, AMERICA - Voting Rights in the 2004 battleground state of
Ohio, are AGAIN under attack. All the lessons of the 2004 election were
not only unheaded, but worse...much worse, EVIL legislation which
exempts voting equipment vendors from public scrutiny, ENSURES
disenfranchisement, and makes it virtually impossible to come up with
the money do a recount, is about to be voted into law.

Vote "NO" on HB3 Democracy Outlawed

House Bill 3 has already passed the Ohio House of
Representatives along strictly partisan lines and is
going to a vote in the Ohio Senate Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005.

1.  HB3 will require positive identification before
casting a vote.  The New York Times, among others, argues that the
ID requirements and the costs associated with them, constitute an
unconstitutional, discriminatory poll tax.

2.   HB3 opens voter registration activists to partisan prosecution.

3.   HB3 exempts electronic voting machines from public scrutiny.

4.   HB3 quintuples the cost of citizen-requested
statewide recounts and makes it illegal to challenge a
presidential vote count or, indeed, any federal election result in Ohio.

Legislation that serves to suppress the vote is NOT
in the interest of the American people and will result
in the installation of politicians who are not
accountable to the people.  

We urge you to vote AGAINST HB3.

This is as crucial an issue as exists today in this country! Please, all DU'ers
contact media and if in Ohio, your state senators. Demand that they vote NO
on this assualt on basic Constitutional rights of due process and equal protection.
This really is a major step toward total fascist control. Fight back!
