Remember how Bush "won" in 2004 because of "family values"?
Is anyone doing a comparison with similar ballot issues from yesterday's election?

For example, here in Maine voters endorsed a gay rights law.

Voters endorse gay rights law

Was there tampering with these "family values" issues in 2004 since that is what they used as an excuse for Bush's win?

1. The only reason the voter turnout in Ohio among the fundies in 04
was because of the gay issue on the ballot.
Bu$h would never have take Ohio if they had not placed that issue on the ballot to insure the fundie and homophobes would get out to vote.

3. Oh yes, it's all coming back to me now
Rove made sure that numerous states had the gay issue on their ballots!
Again, just a ploy to get fundies out thinking hateful thoughts.
But, I believe also a cover for stealing the election.

turnout of those influenced by religious conservatives and gay haters in as many states as possible. And also to influence people to vote based on such issues rather than the more important economic, foreign policy, and environmental issues that Republicans would fare poorly on.

This is a commonly used tactic and not the first time its been done, or the last.

4. So?
Maine voted for Kerry in '04; now they voted for gay rights

Texas voted for ** in '04, and you know what happened to the gay rights there yesterday. I am yet to see an inconsistency...

6. You know what happened to the gay rights in Texas yesterday?
Up until five years ago, I would have said it didn't matter, that it would be ruled unconstitutional. But not now.

5. That was CNN's Schneider and Ron Silvers excuse.
Which meant, we don't have family values......riiiiight.

They had to come up with some reason to cover the stolen vote...what else could they use? Fiscal policy? The Iraq War?
