This week, without any prior notice to the public, the State Board of Elections approved Voting System Standards which define the rules for certification, testing, and use of New York’s new voting systems. But these weak regulations do nothing to address vital issues of voting system security, usability, and accessibility. Adoption of these vague and unspecific rules would be a disaster for New York. We can’t let this happen.
On Monday, November 7, we need you to come out and join New Yorkers for Verified Voting in Albany and NYC to tell the State Board of Elections:
* We demand reliable, secure, accessible and auditable voting in NY.
* We won’t vote on unproven, expensive, error prone DREs.
* We demand voting machine standards that don’t give away the store to vendors seeking huge profits selling NY electronic touchscreen voting machines.
Join New Yorkers for Verified Voting for a rally in at the State Capitol in Albany on Monday, November 7 at 12 Noon (details below).
For those in the New York City area, NYVV is holding a press conference in Manhattan on the same day. The press conference will be held at 11:15AM on the City Hall steps (details below).
Please join us at one our dual events on Monday 11/7 to tell state officials that we don’t want to vote on unproven, expensive, error prone DREs.
And here’s a link where you can let your friends know about the rally:
