New Member Needs Help With Letter to Media Connections
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 09:35 PM by sabra
I am very excited to be part of the DU community, I truly admire what you guys are doing here, and hope I can contribute to the cause.

I have two connections at two different media sources. One is a staff reporter at the Wall Street Journal, and another is a journalist for the Jerusalem Report. I was contemplating writing them a letter, asking for their take on the situation, as them for advise, and maybe even send a compilation of the findings here.

I was wondering what you guys think? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

- Sabra

1. WSJ will be a dry hole.
Too plugged into the same people and philosophies that led to this. Casually discuss with the reporter, to inject the meme, but don't hold your breath.

On the other hand, the JP connection sounds like it could well bear fruit, although, from what I remember, they are pretty plugged into the Sharon power structure. That may present difficulties.

3. Please try it!
The worst that could happen is you get a response like I got from a friend in the media, saying they won't/can't report it.

The best is that they do report it.

Middle option - they have doubts, which make them view other stories about the administration more critically.

I think Will Pitt's article on truthout.org is a good start point for them to read: http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/110804A.shtml
