Here is what my wife wrote the DNC today

I am not happy with the Democratic party, particularly its leadership.
Daschele deserves to be defeated; Terry McAuliffe deserveds to be
replaced;
Nancy Pelosi should not continue to be the minority leader, as she has been less than principled in her votes concerning Iraq.

Frankly, the grassroots volunteers worked so incredibly hard on the
election that Kerry failed us. The Democratic Party should also clean house, as Bush was NOT that difficult of an opponent. The Democrats gave away the store by allowing the Republicans to have their way. The votes are being recounted in New Hemphire and Ohio, among other places. Yet the recount effort is not being led by the Democrats, but by Ralph Nader and MoveOn.org. My husband
and I sent in money for a recount to the DNC, which is not spearheading the effort because Kerry does not want to look like a sore loser. Pooh.
The issue at hand is not how Kerry would look like, but the integrity of the voting system that affects all of us.

Where is the recount money? We know that the Republicans committed
voting fraud, but the Democrats do not seem to be too concerned about it. We need to get rid of black box voting, which was supported by the Democrats.
What's wrong with the Democrats? There seems to be no end to the
Democrats allowing the Republicans to control everything. My husband and I want our money back if DNC is not using it for recount purposes.

Unless we can get rid of black box voting nationwide, there is no point for me to vote any more. The entire voting process has been compromised and unreliable. Why should we vote again when our votes are being used to legitimize a criminal enterprise in the White House?

If the Democrats do not shape up, Bush and his Christian right wingers will succeed in crippling the unions, and the regular workers will be forced to accept third world wages, with no benefits of any kind. There won't be any money coming in to the Democratic Party, and there will effectively be only ONE party in this country. That's Karl Rove's vision. And this country
will become third rate, just like the old planatation days when the
moneyed-class controlled everything.

The corporate media has already been co-opted to become a propaganda
organ for the Republicans. When will the Democratic Party wake up to this Orwellian nightmare? When, when, when?

1. Kerry Folks Should Give Back The GELAC Money
You are right on the money! The GELAC money should be released to an organization actually working on this!

4. I agree.
I also gave money to the DNC fund that was supposed to ensure every vote was counted. I'd like to see this money go to organization's like Bev's that are working so hard right now to make sure the votes are counted.

What is the DNC doing with this money? Perhaps I should write them a letter.

6. it just doesn't make sense does it....
that's why I have come to the conclusion that DNC and Kerry were complicit with RNC and Bush....a fake election with fake results...and no one left to fight for us......

except Ralph Nader....maybe we should have listened to Ralph in the beginning..

7. Wow.
People are throwing in the towel all over this board tonight - and only an hour ago everything seemed to be looking up. Many of your points are valid - too many. There is little question that the party has a lot of reform in front of it if it is ever to be successful again. But there are people working on this. And they are new people - some new blood is finding its way in because everyone is very frustrated with how things are being run (or not run as is often the case). However, now is the time for us to unite. The most important thing you said was that,

"Unless we can get rid of black box voting nationwide, there is no point for me to vote any more. The entire voting process has been compromised and unreliable. Why should we vote again when our votes are being used to legitimize a criminal enterprise in the White House?"

Given that unfortunate fact, regardless of any problems we have as a party in general, we must fix this before we can go forward - and that includes even going forward to join another party or form another party or whatever you see as a solution. There is no solution if we do not band together and defeat this coup d'etat that has been aimed our way. Once we have stopped this fraud - with or without Kerry, with or without the party's help, there is no doubt that it is time for "we the people" to do some serious work. One step at a time, slow and steady wins the race - or so they say. Let's see.
