ON THE ROPES
Don't expect much noise from the Democrats over Ohio.

By Matt Taibbi

...we in the media need to reexamine the 2004 election. If they really did steal it, we can't just let it slide. Because they'll do it again. And forget about the Democrats being able to do anything about it. They have their own problems.

9. I never heard of him until he was on Jon Stewart last month. Then I read
an article of his that was linked on Buzzflash about this.

Go here & play the clip of him with Jon Stewart.

6. Pretty much sumz up the situation:
{The Republican Party} has convinced the country and even themselves that there is something immensely clever, and even principled, about the way that it lies, cheats and bends laws and rules to get what it wants.

sElection 2k and a Constitutional crisis over an immaterial fellatio fib certainly exhibited beyond any doubt that their self-righteousness supercedes any law what-so-ever.

7. Please write to Matt and/or his editor and thank them.
I just did.

I included a bit about Bob Koehler, along with links to his articles.

10. Yay, the new article!
I've been looking forward to this and hearing what he says. I was really surprised to hear him talking about this just shortly after he was on the "Daily show" saying he was betting on Bush winning and not Kerry and all that. I think this says a lot: <"The reality is that we have too many other things going on. We have more important immediate concerns.">

This is what the republicans do. They have so much going on at once that you have to be on your toes. The press isn't going to talk about it unless it's progressive or opinion pieces like Taibbai's. And this makes everything hopeless:

<That is why we in the media need to reexamine the 2004 election. If they really did steal it, we can't just let it slide. Because they'll do it again. And forget about the Democrats being able to do anything about it. They have their own problems.>
