Poll question: Did Bush know about the Plame leak before it happened?
Do you believe there was grand jury testimony to that effect?

2. Unlike many at DU, I believe GWB and Karl are two peas in a pod
both in awe of Lee Atwater, both looking for a nasty way to take care of their enemies.

GWB is Barbara's son -- he got the vindictive gene.

Bush Knew About Leak of CIA Operative's Name

Witnesses told a federal grand jury President George W. Bush knew about, and took no action to stop, the release of a covert CIA operative's name to a journalist in an attempt to discredit her husband, a critic of administration policy in Iraq.

Their damning testimony has prompted Bush to contact an outside lawyer for legal advice because evidence increasingly points to his involvement in the leak of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame's name to syndicated columnist Robert Novak.

4. I voted yes but...

... on reflection, I think not. I think this white house is a lot like Nixon's. Lawlessness, treason, fraud and lies are so routine that they don't even talk about the "little stuff" with each other. It's just SOP. Besides, what's GW got to add to anything?

Nothing new either... Reagan became president by being against the government (oh, I'm sorry, "BIG" government). By the 4th generation, who even pays attention to "laws"?

15. The article doesn't give any evidence for that tidbit about testimony.
It cd be true, but it might also be unsubstantiated rumor. Even if B knew or was told, he forgot the next minute I think. Reagan had Alzheimer's as an excuse for not knowing anything. B doesn't have that excuse and doesn't need it. If he had Alzheimer's it wouldn't degrade his mental capacities that much. When you're already close to zero, there's not much left to degrade.

9. That new thread about the report on Plame that Powell had on AF1
is pretty enlightening. Esp. considering that AF1's phone records were subpoenaed.

12. Rove has been called back to testify three times...
Probably to answer contradictions by witnesses to his first testimony... It's never good to be called more than once...

I think that the WH is like a frat house living room...bunch of guys sitting around shooting the shit, up to no good. Not a cool frat, like Animal House, the nerdy one consisting of dumb rich guys and smart poor guys who do their homework.

I love that post upthread on the testimony and the link provided. Fitsgerald is his own man, I suspect, and also serves the interests of "management." They've had enough of * and the oil boys, the Halliburtons, and the DeLays of the world. We'll see how good they are.

Excellent post!
