Bush moving quickly to forestall any election turnaround
This is what's happening now.

Bush is moving very quickly to build momentum that would make it difficult to undo this election. And he's working to make it seem that he's going to be more moderate.

Watch for signs of this strategy. Appointments, war strategy, etc.

3. Yep, that's exactly how I see it, too.
Shrub is so busy, busy, busy...getting face time every few hours. Very unShrublike. There's a plan afoot, otherwise he would be in Crawford killing frogs.

8. I agree.
Although I haven't been watching the cable news but they barely mention that an election was last week and how tight it was. All they keep repeating (by reading here on DU and online) is that Dumbass has a "mandate".

9. this election is over
there is no chance whatever of having it overturned, no chance of anyone but * being inaugurated on 1/20. Time for plan B, whatever that turns out to be.

14. The election is NOT over
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 05:42 PM by EST
until final certification, electors are done, and we, the people, have said, "we quit. We won't protest, march in the streets, or do anything else to topple the Evil Empire." Then, with Bush inaugurated, and the rest of the country, on average going along with it, perhaps the election is over. I refuse to get sucker-punched into becoming the drifting, belly button gazing, wind direction fl-fl, appeasing non entity the dirty dorks have portrayed us as.

10. Don't count on it
He's about to nominate Alberto Gonzales for attorney general. You know, the guy who essentially setup the rules for Guantanamo and threw the Geneva Conventions in the trash.

Not what I would call "being more moderate"...

11. Well, that...and the 3.5 million votes he's currently ahead by.
Why do people think Bush should act like he hasn't won yet? As far as he and the media are concerned, he won. I'm not sure why you expect him to act as though he didn't.

Don't get me wrong - I hate the guy and suspect that they used every underhanded trick in the book to pull this off. But don't expect him to suddenly say, "Yeah, you guys are right. We did steal the election. Guess I better not do anything presidential then."

13. He already started with his "mandate" crap
I think it will backfire. I think alot of people, even Republicans, dont want Bush to govern with a mandate.

What an ass.

15. This is another reason why Kerry stepped back
Kerry's withdrawal has allowed Bush to take off his mask.

Instead of Bush defending himself against Kerry and fighting over the validity of the vote, Kerry tricked Bush into believing he was the winner. Since Bush has put himself above the law, he forgot that he hasn't been elected to anything yet. He will not be 'elected' until the Electoral College votes in mid Dec.

Because Bush believes that no one can stop him anymore, he revealed his real agenda too soon. We are now seeing the real George Bush and he is the embodiment of the anti-christ. I hope and pray that enough people see this in time to still have a chance to turn this thing around.

17. George Bush and he is the embodiment of the anti-christ
Who is the Antichrist?

First let us remove some of the mystique about the name Antichrist. Simply put the Antichrist is an individual who is against the true Christ and/or is attempting to pass himself off as the true Christ. In either case this individual is in opposition to God the Father and Jesus Christ and their teachings.

The Antichrist is the same dynamic and charismatic individual described elsewhere in the Bible as the Beast who is the leader of a powerful religious governmental system that controls an alliance of nations called the Beast. The Antichrist is the individual who has absolute authority, power, and control over all religious, philosophical, economic, and political aspects of people who live under his control.

It is very important to understand that this individual called the Antichrist and the Beast is not Satan the Devil, but is in Satan's service and is a representative of Satan's demonic spiritual government as is the False Prophet (Rev.16:13; 20:10). The Bible clearly states that Satan the Devil is a master at the art of deception: “He is that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world” (Rev. 12: 9). He has been a liar from the very beginning (Jn.8:44). The Antichrist is one of his most cleaver deceptions of all time, which will deceive all but the elect of God.

Signs and Miracles

The Antichrist, who is the leader of the alliance of nations called the Beast, will ascend to power accompanied by supernatural signs and miracles and will be accepted as a god in the flesh by most people on earth. Notice what Jesus says about the false christs and prophets who will precede his arrival as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew 24:23-31 Paraphrased

"Then if anyone says to you, Behold, here is the Christ; or, Here he is! Do not believe it. For false christs will rise up, and false prophets. And they will give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I tell you beforehand. Then if they say to you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; do not go out. Behold, he is in the inner rooms; do not believe" (vs.23-26). See also Mk.13:21-22.

20. While this kind of rope-a-dope is ... admirable
in a personal matter, or even in the business world, in the international world, with people DYING every friggin' day and the rest of us begging for leadership and losing economic ground by the second, Kerry's strategy - if indeed this is it - is actually lamentable.

How dare he play some cutesy fucking head game with Bush/Rove when the stakes are this high ...

Privatizing social security is not a "moderate" position.
