Diebold DREs invade another county.

"The Story County Auditor's Office will spend about $500,000 on computerized voting machines, accessible to people with disabilities, including the blind. The county also will be part of a statewide database of registered voters.
.....
In 2006, all Story County precincts will have one touch-screen voting machine, with a paper copy of votes secured inside. The county will not replace the current paper ballots counted by an optical scan machine, said Story County Auditor Mary Mosiman.
Election officials kept the optical scan machines for two reasons: they are affordable and effective, Mosiman said. Iowa law requires one voting booth per 350 registered voters in each precinct, and a touch-screen machine serves 200 voters per precinct, Mosiman said.

"I think everyone's been pretty happy with the current system we have," said Jan Bauer, chairwoman of the Story County Democratic party, who tested and approves of the new machines."
